Jack Cibrian, 82, of Forest, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, August 3, at home surrounded by his wife Ruth, her daughter Donna, and his son Jack. He was born on June 18, 1943, in Newark, New Jersey. After graduating from Rahway High School, Jack joined the Navy, serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise.
He married Carol Fulinello in 1963. For many years he was a driver for High Grade Beverage. During this time, they raised two sons, Jack and Frank. Jack was a supportive father. He coached his sons’ baseball and soccer teams, ran after school activities at their elementary school, and helped with building school projects. Jack was also a soccer referee for many years.
After his divorce, Jack found love again with his high school sweetheart Ruth Dawkins. They married in 2008 and eventually moved to Virginia, where he lived until his death. Jack loved poker. When he was able, he would go to the casinos and play the tables or slots. He loved playing free poker on the TV, winning millions of dollars in virtual money. Jack also loved his Netflix. He would watch action movies very loudly since he refused to get a hearing aid. On YouTube, he could watch construction videos. Jack loved bulldozers in action.
Jack is survived by his wife Ruth, son Jack, sister Barbara Brooks, niece Dawn McManus, step-daughter Donna Alvarez, and grandchildren Abigail Haley, Anna Cibrian, Nicholas Cibrian, and Ava Cibrian.
Jack was preceded in death by his son Frank Cibrian and nephew Walter Sauers.
