Jack Ellis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by O'Brien-Sullivan Funeral Home on Feb. 25, 2026.
Jack Ellis, age 79, of Novi, passed away on February 23, 2026. He was born on October 6, 1946, in Detroit.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his strong sense of duty, discipline, and commitment to others. He went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Wayne State University and built a successful career with Ford Motor Company, where he worked as an IT Manager. He was respected for his knowledge, leadership, and dedication throughout his many years of service.

Above all, Jack's greatest accomplishment was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and papa who found his deepest joy in the time he spent with those he loved. Whether he was sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply enjoying a quiet moment together, Jack's presence brought comfort and strength to his family.

He had a lifelong love for visiting Walt Disney World, where he embraced the magic and memories created there with family. Jack was also passionate about classic cars, especially his beloved Mustang, which he took great pride in and enjoyed sharing with fellow enthusiasts.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Angeline Guzdzial and Jack Ellis, and by his cherished daughter, Marcie Birk.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terry; his daughter, Angie (Brian) Sobczynski; his son, Tim (Emily) Ellis; his three grandchildren, Mackenzie, Natalie, and Benjamin; and his sister-in-law, Toni Mornweck. He leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering dedication to family.

Memorial Visitation will take place at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375, on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
