Jack Garland Farris, Jr., Age 57 of Hilliard, Florida passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2023 at Baptist Health North in Jacksonville, Florida. Jack was born April 2nd, 1966 in Roanoke, Virginia to Jack Farris Sr. and Judy StClaire Carter.
Jack is survived by his wife, Gayle VanZant Farris, of 36 years, two sons, Michael Farris (Breanna), Jay Farris (Victoria), one daughter Megan Farris (Tyler), two brothers Jammie Carter and Billy Utt (Jackie), one sister Jeanne Adams (Robert) and five grandchildren Landry, Rylan, Emberlyn, Rowan and Nolia.
He is preceded in death by his mother Judy StClair Carter, his father Jack Farris Sr., his stepfather James Carter, and his sister Janet McKinnon.
Jack was a loving, patient, hardworking man. He cherished his family and his grandbabies and they cherished him. He was very proud of his kids and grandbabies, he was their #1 fan. Jack loved to sing and everyone loved to hear him sing. He loved Nascar, baseball, and football. He was a diehard Georgia Bulldog fan. He loved mowing grass; he seriously loved it. Everything he did he took his time, he was precise, always wanted to make sure it was done perfectly right. He was the Jack of all trades.
Jack was also a generous person, he would give you the shirt off his back. He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh. He will truly be missed by all that knew him. A funeral service to honor the life of Jack will be held at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston, Georgia, Friday, July 28 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest at Mill Creek Cemetery in Hilliard, Florida.
