Jack Giese Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fisher Funeral Home - Denison on Apr. 19, 2023.
Jack Ellis Giese was welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 13th, 2023.
Jack was born in Melbourne, Florida on September 17th, 1967 and was blessed with an exceptional athletic ability and love for the game of baseball. His baseball career began on the fields of Arlington Heights High School, was further developed at Navarro Junior College, and concluded with him playing professionally for the Pirates Organization. As an adult, he held several prominent positions including a scout for the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds, pitching coach for the Tampa Bay Rays Organization, head pitching coach and head of recruiting for the University of Oklahoma, and head coach for Howard College in Big Spring. Additionally, he has mentored more than one hundred players that have gone on to be drafted or signed at the professional level.
Anyone who met Jack experienced his larger than life personality. His loud voice bellowed out his infamous stories, invoking a shush from some and laughter from all. In February, Jack enjoyed a renewed connection with family members, and he was able to make those stories come alive once again. He will be greatly missed.
Jack is survived by his daughter Ellis, daughter Shea, son-in-law Tyler, and grandchildren; Cal, Kambrie, and Korie. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Carol Porter, and numerous other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Giese; mother, Othello Giese; and father, Jack Lou Giese.
Jack will be honored with a memorial service at First United Methodist Church of Richardson at 503 North Central Expressway Richardson, TX 75080 on Thursday, May 11th at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Jack really was larger than life! You only needed to meet him to remember him. I asked him once why he always wore sandals when recruiting and he said "I don´t want to blend in with the others. With so many recruiters looking at young talent, how will they describe me when trying to recall who they had talked to....THE ONE WEARING SANDALS!!" He proclaimed.

Jack is the only person I ever met that could hit a golf ball OVER the net at Top Golf.... Every single time. Lol.

Fly high my friend. You will be missed by so many but the memories you left us with will live on forever!
