Jack E Gilbert (1927-2017), 90, went home to be with our Lord on May 9,2017. He was born February 21, 1927 in Indianapolis to Harry F and Catherine Geisert Gilbert. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1945. He enlisted and was accepted into the V-5 program as a Naval Aviation Cadet. While in the Navy, he attended Tulane University for two years and then started flight training. He graduated from Butler University in 1950. He was employed at Allison Division of General Motors for 38 years as the Senior Negotiator for the Pricing Department. After retiring, he consulted for another 18 years with Allison Gas Turbine. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carol Ann. They were blessed with three children: David (Claire), Sarah (Michael), and Cynthia (Bill). He has six grandchildren whom he loved dearly: Meredith and Colin (David), Brianna and Megan (Sarah), and Madison and Jacob (Cynthia). He and Carol Ann came to Traders Point Christian Church in 1968 and were involved in various ministries including Missions and Evangelism and is an Elder Emeritus. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Purdue Christian Campus House for 41 years as well as on the Advisory Board at Milligan College in Tennessee. He was a faithful servant, Godly mentor, loyal friend, magnificent husband, incredible Dad, and one special \"Papa.\" His legacy lives on.Visitation will be on Thursday, May 18th from 2pm-8pm at Traders Point Christian Church Northwest at 6590 S Indianapolis Road, Whitestown, IN? 46075.? A Going Home Celebration Service will be held at Traders Point Christian Church on Friday, May 19th at 1 pm with viewing at 12pm. Memorial Contributions can be made to: PURDUE CHRISTIAN CAMPUS HOUSE 1000 West State Street, West Lafayette, IN? 47906.
