Jack Carlton Gustavsen passed away December 21,2022 at the age of 67, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gunerius Jack Gustavsen and Dorothy Mae Gustavsen (Festervan), and his uncle Ben Festervan.
He is survived by his sister and best friend Laura Hughes and husband Rick Hughes, of San Marcos, Texas; his nephew Cameron Norvell, wife Sonia and children Lincoln and Naomi, of Bryan, Texas; his niece Amy Gilliam, husband Hardy, and children Elise and Harris of New Braunfels, Texas.
Jack was an avid music enthusiast and enjoyed attending numerous concerts throughout his life. Some of his favorites were Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rolling Stones, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, The Doobie Brothers and Bob Seger to name a few.
Jack's love for music exhibited itself in all aspects of his life. He had a vinyl record collection of over 600 albums, collected Rolling Stone magazines for over 20 years, and had a wide variety of t-shirts from all his concert outings.
Among his prized possessions were his Rolling Stones leather jacket and hat, and his Dr. Hook autographed framed playbill.
Jack's wit, sense of humor and kindness will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved him.
There will be a viewing at Pennington's Funeral home, in San Marcos Texas from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, December 27. He will be laid to rest at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale, Texas Tuesday December 27, at 1pm. He will rest alongside his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gustavsen, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben J. Festervan and uncle Ben H. Festervan.
