February 24, 1933 – May 26, 2025
Jack V. Henegar, age 92, of Monroe, passed away in his home on Monday, May 26, 2025.
Born in Monroe Michigan on February 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Ulysses and Hazel (Raines) Henegar. Shortly after leaving school, Jack joined the United States Army and served his country with honor during the Korean War. He served as a medic and held the title of Staff Sargent before his discharge. He would eventually marry Helen Marie Dusseau and they were able to spend many wonderful years together until her passing.
Jack worked as a welder for Monroe Steel Casting for many years. He was a member of the VFW local 1138 and Zion Lutheran Church.
Jack was a kind, patient and sweet man. His ability to navigate through life's situations was remarkable. He loved his family and was honored to be a part of their lives. He had the privilege of being a father, a grandfather, great grandfather and great- great grandfather.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and reading. Jack also liked to play poker at the Monroe Senior Center. He will be truly missed by all that loved and knew him.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his children: Charles (Evlynne) Henegar, Michael (Beth) Dusseau, Dianne McMullen, Suzanne (Robert) Bates, Dawn (Benjamin) Cuprys and Misty Dusseau; eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by his wife Helen, a daughter, Debra Henegar, and a son, Jack Henegar; his siblings: Mable Lambert, Pearl Rowland, Thelma McDonald and Billy Henegar.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home from 4 until 7 pm. A funeral service will take place at Rupp on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 11 am with Pastor Ed Spreeman officiating. Jack will be laid to rest immediately following at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle.
