Nancy Pickard Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Merkle Funeral Service, Inc. - North Monroe on Mar. 2, 2026.
Nancy Lee Pickard was born November 22, 1938, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three daughters from the union of George Winfield and Bernice (Miller) Pickard. She attended Monroe High School and earned her GED in 1982.

Nancy was born with the spirit of her German heritage, and she became a strong-willed and independent woman. As a young girl, she discovered a passion for sewing and became a skilled seamstress. Her hands intricately navigated embroidery and cross-stitch, crafting beautiful pieces. She also took part in bowling as a young girl. Nancy was blessed with eight children. To help provide for her family, she drove school bus for Monroe Public Schools.

She has a vibrant personality and a sense of humor that made her the life of any gathering. Nancy had a knack for making people laugh, her wit and charm made her endearing to everyone she met. She was known for her love of socializing, often surrounded by friends as they gathered to play her favorite game, BUNKO.

Despite not being a drinker, Nancy found joy in visiting local establishments where she could dance the night away. She was a regular on the dance floor, which was fueled by her sheer enjoyment of the music.
