Jack Holmes Obituary

Jack was a member of the IBEW local 760 from the 1960's until his retirement from TVA Watts Bar in the 1990's, being an electrician by trade. He loved to make people laugh, he was known as the 'Mayor of Hickory Valley' where he kept watch of things in the area. He was an avid Alabama football fan and had fun with others over that during the season. Roll Tide!
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Enoch and Gladys Holmes, and his beautiful wife of 57 years, Linda Holmes.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca (Brad) Graham; grandsons, Tyler and Austin; and niece, Lynn (Dan) Wilson.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to his doctors, nurses and staff from both the University of Tennessee Medical Center and Sacred Grounds Hospice. They all were exceptionally good to him. Also, to his great neighbors who would check in on him and keep him in tact! Thank you.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 2:45 PM on Monday, November 10 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 3:00 PM Graveside Service, with Pastor Mark Kitts officiating.
Pallbearers: Brad, Tyler, Austin Graham, Dan Wilson, Ed Hale and Steve Julian.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Jack's honor.
