Jack enjoyed a successful career as a pharmacist, serving in the Oklahoma City area as well as Dallas and Tyler, TX, retiring in 2018. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, TX.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Houts; and sister, Anna Lee Unruh. He is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Mark Houts (wife Cheyann); granddaughters, Morgan Phillips (husband Brian) and Alyssa Howard (husband Timothy); and great-grandchildren, Parker Phillips and Asher Phillips.
Viewing at Mercer-Adams will be Monday, 10am-8pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2:00 p.m., at Mercer-Adams Chapel.

It saddens me to see this. I wish I would´ve called him more during these last few years.
He was a Godsend to me and my family 30 years ago. We had moved to the Dallas area and I was a pharmacist with no job yet. I had met him at a Sunday night service on my first visit to Richardson Church of the Nazarene. How does that just "happen"? I had faith that Jesus would take care of us, and there´s nothing else that can explain other than His Divine Providence that led us to cross paths.
Sure, I was in a good profession in a good area, but God, through Jack, connected me with the perfect people, job and timing that supported us through the next 6 to 7 years. And I didn´t even have to look for a job! I´m thankful of God´s faithfulness to keep His promises through His servant, Jack Houts.

Jack was my 2nd cousin. We are very close and referred to each other as brothers. He was a wonderful person. He will be missed. May he Rest in Peace!
