East
Montpelier, VTIt is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jack Giorgi Jensen who left us on January 6, 2025, at the age of 18. Born on September 15, 2006, Jack was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend.
Jack had a charming and mischievous personality that was much loved and appreciated by his family and friends. He was able to light up a room with his charisma and antics. Once, while visiting family in Italy, he became known as the Vermont kid who had taken all the bread from the hotel breakfast and covered himself with pigeons in San Marco Square, distracting tourists from the usual sights of Venice.
Jack was a student at U-32 High School where he demonstrated intelligence and a passionate commitment to his friends, who were the core of his life. He loved living in Vermont and East Montpelier and cherished his time spent with classmates and friends.
As a child, Jack was very active in community sports and enjoyed exploring music. In recent years, he became a talented musician and played in the U-32 band. His bedroom was known to be littered with instruments from U-32 that he would borrow and teach himself how to play. He would become proficient in an astonishingly short period of time.
He enjoyed the beauty of Vermont and its outdoor activities. This included hiking and in his own inestimable style would go hiking barefoot, even in cold weather. A recent passion was fishing. He greatly enjoyed exploring local ponds and Lake Champlain with his friends in pursuit of this activity.
He became an avid skier, which was a favorite winter activity. In keeping with his adventurous personality, he enjoyed challenging slopes such as the Face Chutes and Ridge at Jay Peak - even before he was really ready to ski them.
Jack had a special bond with animals, often showing love and compassion for his beloved cats, Diego and Oreo, whom he adopted from the Central Vermont Humane Society. His nurturing spirit and playful nature brought joy to those around him.
Jack is survived by his parents, Kris and Giuliana Jensen; his sister, Johanna Jensen and his brother, Alex Jensen of East Montpelier. He will also be remembered by his aunt and uncles, Kaj Jensen and Robert Bailey, of Venice, Florida, and Alberto Giorgi and Alessandra Giorgi; his cousins, Anita and Adriano Giorgi; and his grandparents, Marco and Nini Giorgi of Torino, Italy.
Public calling hours will be held on January 21, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Guare and Sons Funeral Home in
Montpelier, VT. A time of sharing memories and honoring Jack's vibrant life will begin at 7:30. In this difficult time, the family appreciates the support and love from the community that Jack held so dear.
Those wishing to make a donation in Jack's memory, the family suggests: Central Vermont Humane Society, 1589 VT Route 14, East
