Jack Kellogg, 80 of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024 at his home. He was born August 21, 1944 to Raymond and Mary (Valley) Kellogg in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Jack attended Prairie du Chien Schools for eleven years. He entered the United States Navy in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1966 where he was stationed on the U.S. Sperry in San Diego California. He also received his GED while in the Navy.
Jack was united in marriage with Darlene Messerli on October 21, 1962 in Waukon, Iowa. Five sons were born to this union, Charles, John, Bob, Troy and Shane. He worked road construction for five years, for Prairie du Chien Sanitation as a truck driver, worked for the city of Prairie du Chien as a dispatcher and on the street department for twenty-five years retiring in 2002.
Jack loved to camp and camped in many different parks with family and friends. He especially enjoyed the trips up north with his four sons on Father's Day weekends. He also enjoyed watching the Pittsburg Steelers with his son, Troy and competing with sons, John, Bob and Shane, the "Packer fans." Jack loved doing cookouts for family and friends in his personal self-built man cave. His cats, Shadow and Gofa were a cherished part of his life. Jack was a devoted husband to the love of his life, soulmate and wife, Darlene for sixty years. He was extremely proud of his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His time has come to watch over his infant son, Charles.
Jack is survived by his wife, Darlene of Prairie du Chien; four sons, John (Michaela) Kellogg of Prairie du Chien, Bob (Shelley) Kellogg of La Crosse, Troy Kellogg of La Crosse and Shane (Melissa) Kellogg of Prairie du Chien; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was preceded in death by his infant son, Charles; his parents; his siblings, Raymond Kellogg, Laverne Kellogg, Irtia Wilson, Rosemary Euring, Marie Whittaker, Lucille Rodenberg and Judy Olson; brothers-in-law, Clarence Stagman and Harold Goad and nephew, Greg Rodenberg.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin with Military Rites.
Thornburg-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin is assisting the family with services.
