Jack Louis Kinch
1927 – 2024
Jack Kinch, 97, of Olathe, Kansas, passed from this life to eternal rest with his Savior on October 31, 2024.
Jack was born in Depew, Oklahoma in 1927 where he was raised surrounded by his large loving extended family. He had many aunts, uncles and cousins who were part of his daily life.
He graduated from Seminole High School where he played football and baseball. He then enlisted in the Navy to serve his country in WWII. During the war, he was stationed on ships in the Pacific Theater. Later, he would enlist once again during the Korean War. At age 90, Jack went to Washington D.C. on an Honor Flight with his niece, Laura (Kinch) Oliva. It was one of the best experiences of their lives.
Jack attended the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State where he studied geology. One of his favorite pastimes was watching Sooner sports. He pitched a no-hitter himself while at OU.
Jack lived in California for around 3 decades where he was a Service Manager for various companies. He also had side businesses such as a dirt bike track, marina and almond farm. He enjoyed riding motorcycles in California and Utah. Jack was also a talented painter, leaving behind some beautiful paintings that his family members treasure.
After retirement, Jack returned to Oklahoma and then later moved to Olathe, Kansas to be near his niece.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth (Werrell) Kinch; his sister, June (Kinch) Cavenee and brother, Otis Kinch.
He was a very special uncle to his niece and nephews: David Cavenee, Patrick (Kelly) Cavenee, Monty (Christine) Kinch, Laura (Tomás) Oliva and Destry Kinch. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Gail (Otis) Kinch, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
