Jack Lee Kinney, 71 of Westfield, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024. Jack was born January 1, 1953 in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late John C. and Gracie Jane Kinney. He was a 1971 graduate of Wiley High School in Terre Haute. After graduation, Jack enlisted in the US Navy where he honorably served for 6 years. After discharge from the Navy, he graduated from Indiana State University in 1981. Jack was a safety manager for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center for several years. Then, he worked for the Office of Homeland Security where he served as a safety office supervisor.
Jack enjoyed traveling, gardening and cooking; especially cooking on the grill. He considered himself richly blessed…he will be dearly missed.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm on Friday, September 6th at Flanner Buchanan-Hamilton Memorial Park, Prairie Waters, where Jack’s funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.
Jack is survived by his wife, Mary Lynn Kinney; children, Jessica (husband, Ken) Harrison and Jay (wife, Marie) Kinney; stepdaughter, Merrit (husband, Bryan) Sacks; grandchildren, Parker, Lizzie, Miles, Caroline, Sarah, J.J. and Sadie; siblings, Jim (wife, Amber) Kinney, Jennie (husband, William) Petscher and Jerry (wife, Victoria) Kinney; his beloved terrier, Lucy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Kinney, his mother, Gracie Jane Poff and his niece, Jennifer Lynn Kinney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Animal Shelter.
