Jack Loyd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scot Ward Funeral Services - Conyers on Jan. 16, 2026.
Ralph Jackson "Jack" Loyd, age 57 of Covington, Ga, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. He bravely fought a kidney cancer diagnosis. Jack was born on December 26, 1968, in Athens, Georgia. He was a devoted son to Jackson and Nell Loyd of Bogart, Ga and the brother to Natalie, John, and Zachary. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ralph and Mary Ruth Loyd as well as his maternal grandparents Elder Tinsley and Mildred Holbrook.

Jack was a truck driver by trade and was known for his kind heart and strong work ethic. He was a devout Christian and long- time member of Glen Haven Baptist Church. He enjoyed walking on the beach and listening to his favorite bands. He took his rightful place as the family buck dancer and was known to show off his "skills" on the dance floor at weddings or parties.

Jack never met a stranger and would often give his lunch or buy a meal for anyone in need. He was a great listener and gave sound advice whether you asked for it or not. He had many amazing qualities but his honesty and loyalty to his family and friends were evident to all. He was a fierce protector of those he loved. He took his role as big brother, husband, and father seriously. While he is rejoicing in Heaven, we are grieving his absence from us. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.

He is survived by his wife Becky and their daughter Taylor. His parents Jackson and Ruth, sister, Natalie, brothers, John and Zachary and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Frances and Don Crowe.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 19, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Matt Puckett officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, January 19, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be submitted online at www.scotward.com.
