OBITUARY

Jack Jordan Mann, Jr., age 74, died peacefully in his home in Carthage, Mississippi on February 12, 2026. He is survived by his brother Robert W. Mann, II, of Jackson, Mississippi, along with many friends who are too numerous to name. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Jordan Mann, Sr. and Frances Davis Mann, as well as his favorite dog, Sparky, who was a good boy. Jack was particularly close to Sally Smith, who was his care giver, as well has having performed that role for Jack's mother, Frances.

Jack graduated from Carthage High School in 1969 and from the University of Mississippi in 1978. He was a successful insurance agent. While he always considered Carthage his home, he enjoyed the time he spent in Oxford, Houston, San Antonio and Key West.

He was active in the Carthage Methodist Church where he operated the sound console. He also participated on many overseas mission trips.

He organized the Route 66 Car Club and sponsored numerous car shows, where he enjoyed showing his vintage Volkswagen Beetle and his original, unrestored 1966 Corvette, which was, of course, red. He had "car friends" all over Central Mississippi.

Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be Monday, February 16, 2026 at Carthage Methodist Church starting at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ed Temple and Rev. Tommy Jennings officiating. Grave side service will be at Jordan Cemetery immediately thereafter. Pallbearers are Tom Adams, Robert Baucum, Kirk Holmes, Bert Mitchell, Jimmy Smith and Marc Speed.

In lieu of flowers, it was Jack's desire that donations be sent to the Carthage Methodist Church, 201 East Franklin Street, Carthage, MS 39051.
