Jack R. Matherne, 92, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eleanor Granier Matherne, who was the love of his life; parents, John and Ida Matherne, and his sister, Ruth Hoffman.
He is survived by his son, Marlon Matherne (Kem); daughters, Jackie Williams (Joey), Myra Baudoin (Avery), and Rachelle Tregle (Baron); grandchildren, Kayla Meissner, Macie Gill, Mya Williams, Brittany Roberts, Dr. Morgan Baudoin, Andrew Tregle, and Ian Tregle; great grandchildren, Isabella, Hayes, Baylor, Eleanor “Ella”, Eleanor “Ellie”, Eva, Emma, Adeline, Andrew Jr., Olivia, Luke; and brothers Robert Matherne and Douglas Matherne.
Jack was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a carpenter by trade and a fisherman at heart. He enjoyed gardening, hunting rabbits with his dogs, and raising cattle. He loved dancing with his wife, whether it was around the kitchen table or on the dance floor. He loved his family and he loved us well.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA. Religious services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Des Allemands, LA
