Geraldine (Deanie) LeBlanc Pere’, age 83, passed away September 15, 2025, at 12:10 P.M. She was a native of Lockport and a longtime resident of Raceland. Her final years were spent at The Claiborne assisted living home in Thibodaux.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Hilary Catholic Church, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, beginning at 9:00 am until service time. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am with burial to follow in Holy Savior Cemetery.
Deanie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Ronald John Pere’; sister Marion LeBlanc Barker; children, John Pere’ (Monique), Alison Pere’ Chiasson (Brent), Rene Pere’; grandchildren Matthew Pere’ (Katie), Elise Pere’ LeBlanc (Chase), Jude Pere, Luke Chiasson, and Claire Chiasson; great grandchildren Michael Pere, Madelyn Pere, Christian LeBlanc, and Caleb LeBlanc.
Deanie was preceded in death by her parents, Alcee LeBlanc; Gladys LeBlanc Bilello and Charlie Bilello; and brother, Lawrence LeBlanc.
Deanie graduated from Louisiana State University in1964, with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught in Lafourche Parish for 40 years. Her longest tenure was at Lockport Upper Elementary as a sixth grade English Language Arts teacher. She also gave many years of service at St. Hilary, Holy Rosary, and Holy Savior catholic schools.
Deanie enjoyed spending time with her family, especially during holiday seasons. She took pride in decorating her home and cooking meals for all to enjoy. Her love for Christmas was unmatched. She loved her family, giving much of her time to her kids and grandkids. The family would like to thank the staff at The Claiborne for nine years of selfless assistance and loving care. A special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice for their compassionate care over the last months of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Rosary Catholic School.
