Jack Maxwell Obituary

BAXTER CHAPEL-Jackie "Jack" Darrell Maxwell, 76 was born October 8, 1949 in Putnam County, Tennessee and died Thursday, January 1, 2026 at his home in Silver Point, TN

Jack retired as a carpenter at Tennessee Tech University in the maintenance department.

Jack attended Silver Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed bird hunting, fishing, sports and being outdoors. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Jack always had a positive spirit despite going thru many challenges.

Survivors include sisters and brothers-in-law Gerline Leftwich of Baxter, Linda Burgess of Silver Point, Karen (Stan) Klein of Cookeville, Dennis (Lynn Marie) Wallace of St. Petersburg, FL, nieces: Annette Maynard, Hannah Dyer Hildreth, Karsey Conohan, nephews: Steve (Susan) Burgess, Jacob Dyer, Parker Klein and Trent (Nicole) Maxwell, great nieces and nephews: Elijah Maynard, Haley Wright, Emily Burgess, Zeke Burgess and Isabelle Bargayo; aunt, Margie Shanks of Baxter.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Wallace Maxwell on March 18, 2020, son, Jeremy Todd Maxwell, daughter, Jennifer Lin Maxwell, parents, John Monroe Maxwell and Gladys Willene Allen Maxwell, brother, Billy Ray Maxwell, nephew, Aaron Wallace, grandparents, Roe Oliver and Bertie Ensor Maxwell, Harrison and Flora Chaffin Allen.

Jack's memorial service will be Saturday, January 17 at 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home, 532 4th Avenue South, Baxter, TN with Bro. Travis Little and Bro. Tony Crow officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 AM until service time at the funeral home. A private family interment will be at Palmer Cemetery at Silver Point.

Memorial contributions may be made to Silver Point Baptist Church, 14021 Buffalo Valley Rd., Silver Point, TN 38582.
