BAXTER CHAPEL-Jeffrey Lee Maxwell, known fondly as Jeff, age 68, was born on March 7, 1957, in Cookeville, Tennessee. He attended Upperman High School in Baxter and later dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career at Arrow Termite Co. in Smithville, Tennessee.
Jeff's life was marked by his deep love for family and friends. He is survived his sisters, Connie (Charles) Dalton and Lisa (Troy) Parks, all of Baxter. His family continued to grow with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who played an important role in his life. You will be dearly missed by family, Shala (Josh) Norris, Judy Fuson, Shira Jackson, Lexy Jackson, Aeriana, Landon, and Mason Fuson.
In addition to his devotion to family, Jeff had a passion for motorcycles, horseback riding, and race cars. These hobbies brought him immense joy and were a testament to his adventurous spirit. He attended Boiling Springs Baptist Church, where he found community and connection.
Jeff passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Ascension St. Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Arnold and Willie Margaret Allison Maxwell; his brother, Arnold Maxwell; and his uncle, Jimmie C. Allison.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1 PM at Samuel Maxwell Cemetery in Baxter, Tennessee, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and legacy. Visitation will follow the graveside service at the cemetery. There will be no visitation at the Baxter Chapel. Bro. Dwight Henry will officiate.
