Loyd Mills Obituary
Loyd Denton Mills, age 88 of McMinnville, TN, passed away Feb 28, 2026. He was born on November 13, 1937, in Baxter, TN. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Lorell Mills; his daughter, Kathy Hollandsworth; his parents, John and Hattie Mills; two brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his daughters, Vicky (Gary) Shirley and Sherry (Jimmy) Preston; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A hardworking man, he spent his life as a logger and farmer before owning and managing Pyramid Nursery in McMinnville. He was a member of Pioneer Community Church.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4:00-5:00 pm at McMinnville Funeral Home. In lieu of sending flowers, his daughters encourage friends and family to celebrate his life by planting a tree, taking a walk in the woods, or watching birds from the porch.
