Jack Ford McCollum Jr.

Jack Ford McCollum Jr., 80, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Rockwall, Texas. Born on April 19, 1945, in Hearne, Texas, Jack was the beloved son of Mentie Wright and Jack Ford McCollum Sr.

Jack proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1974, including a tour during the Vietnam War. As a skilled mechanic working on fighter jets; he developed a deep admiration for the F which remained his favorite aircraft throughout his life. After completing his military service, Jack continued his passion for problem solving and technology by building a long and successful career as an IT specialist.

Those who knew Jack remember him as a man with an enormous heart-someone who never hesitated to lend a hand, offer support, or go out of his way to ensure his family and friends were cared for. His generosity, loyalty, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan Carolyn McCollum, and his parents.

He is survived by his sisters Nancy Wise and her husband Greg Shionis, and Mary Williams and her husband David; his brother James McCollum and his wife Candace; his daughters Ginger Johnson and her husband Brad, and Kristi Raney and her husband Max Langford Raney; his grandchildren Hayden Raney, Blair Nevarez and her husband Isaac Nevarez; and his great grandchildren Maddox Nevarez and Amelia Nevarez.

Jack's legacy of service, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Rockwall Pets, an organization close to their hearts.
