Jack Lynn McDonald, 75 of Breckenridge, passed away surrounded by family on October 6, 2024, at Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center of Midland. He was born to Charles and Ruthella (Alfred) McDonald on September 15, 1949, in Petoskey, MI.
Jack received his education from Mid Michigan College as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. He used his technical skills in the garage at Dow Chemical where he worked until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed the simpler things in life like fishing the Great Lakes for salmon, hunting deer and riding his motorcycle. Jack also had an irreplaceable knowledge of antique firearms and smithing. He liked his "John Deere" tractors, horses and old western movies. Jack's greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed every moment he was able to spend with them, from working on projects to spending time at the range and simple family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife; Debra McDonald, father; Charles McDonald of Midland, sisters; Cynthia (Cindy) and Brent Link of Muskegon, Scott and Dixie Chaffee of Carlsbad, TX. Children; Jefferey and Becky McDonald, of Gladwin, Joseph and Tammy McDonald of Bay City, Brian McDonald of Mt. Pleasant. Nephews; Timothy Chaffee, Jason Link, Sam Link. Nieces; Jennifer Link Carter, Tabitha Chaffee. Grandchildren; Kaitlynne-29, Anissa-29, Katelyn-27, Zachery-26, Vincent-25, Tyler-24, Anabella-23, Travis-23, Nicholas 22, Anjali-20, Brady-20, Robert-19, Joseph-19, Lorcan-18, Nathan-15, Elise-15 and Sean-5.
Jack is preceded in his death by his mother, Ruthella.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00am on October 10, 2024, at Smith-Miner Funeral Home with Pastor Travis Smith officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until time of service. Immediately following the service at the funeral home, a graveside service will take place at Porter Township Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Edenville Seventh Day Adventist Church in his honor.

When I think of Jack I so remember him as a young child in Pathfinders club at the Midland SDA church, always that beautiful smile and tight hug for me, he made me feel like his grandma. I will miss seeing you and Debra in church. RIP Jack Jesus is coming soon and we'll see you again
