Jack Mitchell Obituary
Jack Mitchell, 72, of Straits, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Carteret Health Care of Morehead City.
Jack retired from the Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad after 40 plus years of service.
The family will celebrate his life privately.
He is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Ivy Mitchell of Straits; daughter, Missi Johnson and husband, James of Red Banks, MS; son, Joey Mitchell and wife, Candice of Arlington, TN; daughter, Kimberly Leon and husband, Eric of Straits; son, Matthew Mitchell of Van Nuys, CA; eight grandchildren: Lyndsay, Justin, Taylor, Peyton, Victoria, Audrey, Ian, and Avery; 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Ella Mitchell and his nine siblings.
