Jack Lee Openshaw

Jack Lee Openshaw, 79, of Searcy, passed away on July 27, 2025, at The Springs of Searcy. He was born on February 25, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Jack and Lucretia (Seldomridge) Openshaw. Jack served as a minister in the churches of Christ for over 45 years. He loved sharing God's word and helping others grow in their faith. Preaching and teaching were not just a job, but his true calling. Outside of ministry, Jack loved being outdoors. Camping, fishing, and spending time in nature brought him great joy. Jack had a creative side and loved crafting with his hands. Whether making gifts or decorations, he poured love into everything he made. He also had a great sense of humor and could always be counted on to tell a good joke and bring a smile to your face. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Andrea Proffitt (Travis), Jason Openshaw, Aaron Openshaw, and Rachel Woods (Rusty); grandchildren, Adam Winter, Abigail Winter, Alexis Archer, Audrey Openshaw, Maddox Openshaw, Elliot Woods, and Sawyer Woods; and great grandchildren, Knox Winter, Laklynn Eubanks, and Leo Coulson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Leona Openshaw and his brother, Ralph Openshaw. There are no services scheduled at this time.
