Joyce M. Openshaw, 90, of Toms River, NJ, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, May 5, 2025. Born in Bronx, NY, she lived in Jersey City, NJ, before settling in Toms River, NJ in 2007.
She was a dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend to all who knew her. Joyce spent 27 years as a Server at Laico's in Jersey City, NJ.
Joyce is reunited in Heaven with her husband Howard Openshaw II, her parents Charles and Marion (Poole) Beeler, and her brother James Beeler.
She will be forever held and cherished in the hearts of her family; son Michael Openshaw, son Howard and his wife Michelle Openshaw, daughter Patricia and her husband Frank Lanza, daughter Jill Openshaw, her brother Roy Beeler, five grandchildren; Jessica and her husband Glen Lane, Caragh Openshaw, Ashley Lanza and her husband Robert Komer, Stephanie Lanza, Valerie Lanza, as well as three great grandchildren; Charlotte Komer, Zackery Lane, and Emma Komer.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from1pm to 4pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 3:30pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joyce's memory. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.carmonabolenfh.com. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Joyce, please visit our floral store.
