Jack Routh Obituary

Jack Ronald Routh of Overland Park, Kansas, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 87 on June 8th, 2024.
Jack was born on May 27th, 1937 to Mark and May Routh in Rock Springs, Wyoming. After Jack graduated from Rock Springs High School in 1955, he went on to study biology at Westminster College.
After graduating, his first job was teaching science, math, and art, after which he moved into the field of human resources with the National Weather Service until his retirement in 1988. Following his retirement, he spent time with his family, enjoying his many hobbies of painting, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and traveling in an RV around North America and to different countries, with his wife, Joan Marcus.
He was predeceased by his parents and his younger sister Sharon Walker and is survived by his wife, his three sons Chris Routh, Corey Routh, and Brian Routh, his grandchildren Jon Routh, Alex Routh, Vanya Routh, Lidia Routh, Oliver Routh, and Victoria Routh, his great-grandchildren Jack Routh, Keaton Routh and Charlie Routh, as well as his older sister, Mary Louise Brodie.
Services will be held at the Hillcrest Covenant Church in Overland Park, Kansas, on June 17th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes or the American Heart Association, organizations Jack felt strongly about.
