Jack passed away peacefully at Spencer hospital in his sleep on June 25, 2025 after years of battling cancer. He was known for his kindness to others and great sense of humor.
He was a beloved husband. He married Mary Mondt Schomaker on June 8, 1991. He had a very special relationship with her son Michael (Casey)Jones and Casey's daughters Kayla and Alesha. He cherished Mary's family, sister Jane, and all of his grandchildren (they called him Papa Jack) He also loved all of his brother Ronnie's children that he grew up with and thought of them as brothers and sisters. He was a die hard fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He rode a Harley for years and enjoyed all his Harley friends. He always loved animals and had many dogs and cats through the years. He grew up in the Rossie lowa area and attended Royal school. He worked for many years at Eaton manufacturing in Spencer. He often enjoyed Friday morning coffee get together s at HyVee restaurant with fellow Eaton employees.
He was preceded in death by his parents (Bill & Belle), his brothers Ronnie (Phylis) David, Billie and sister MerryBelle(Bob).
He is survived by his wife Mary, stepson Casey, sister Jane (Cliff), many grandchildren, family and friends. The family wishes to Thank the Spencer hospital and Hospice nurse's, and Dr. DeJong for their loving care and kindness.
Because Jack spread so much kindness in his life time, We request no flowers for his funeral but for family and friends to Pass that Forward and do a special kindness for someone.
The family invites all who are able to join them for refreshments after the service at church.
