Reverend Jack Shaffer, served the Lord faithfully for more than 65 years in the service of the Lord alongside his beloved wife of 66 years, Florence Shaffer.
He was ushered into the presence of the Lord on the morning of September 12, 2023, there to take up his crown, that he might then lay it at the feet of our Lord. Pentecostal by experience, holiness of life, and a faithful servant’s heart marked his steps. A heart for missions, a heart for the kingdom, a heart of compassion and joy surrounded his every day. He served 30 years in Pentecostal Church of God, helped build, establish, maintain various churches across the United States while faithfully supporting missions around the world. As educator of ACE schools, he taught in a model classroom as an example of truth and fidelity.
Skilled in upholstery, quilting, weaving, painting, he loved plants, bonsai, many of his labors are endeared to his children and following generations.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Florence Shaffer; sons, Joel Shaffer and wife Kimberly, Michael Shaffer and wife Lisa, Andrew Shaffer and wife Becky; daughters, Mavis Yates and husband Robert, Joanna Stephens and husband Nathan; and sister, Virgina Pasma.
He is also survived by an additional 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Jack will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Matthew Radcliff, Reverend Alan Sumner and Reverend Martin Ochoa officiating. Burial will follow at the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor with Mark Shaffer, Stephen Yates, Matthew Radcliff, Ryan Shaffer, Aaron Shaffer, and Alden Shaffer serving as casket bearers. The grandsons of the family will serve as honorary casket bearers. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Cares World Ministries, the Sumner family or a Ministry of choice. If desired, donations can also be made to Shipman Funeral Home for expenses of funeral and future support of his beloved wife.
