Jack Richard "Ricky" Sharbutt Jr., of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away on January 27, 2025. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Circlewood Baptist Church with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating and burial to follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Richard Sharbutt Sr. and Sally Sue Smith Sharbutt.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Kathleen Sharbutt; daughter, Laura Sharbutt Malone (Bryan); son, Christopher Edwin Sharbutt (Lori); grandchildren, Madison Gray Spivey (Hudson), Laura Ashlynn Gray (Tyler Frederick), Avery Hayes Sharbutt, Aiden Grace Sharbutt, and Ethan Cross Sharbutt.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Richard Sharbutt Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a devoted family man and a dedicated member of Circlewood Baptist Church for 50 years where he served as a Deacon.
As a loving husband, Jack shared 54 years of marriage with his wife, Nancy, whom he adored deeply. During his life he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and upon honorable discharge, he worked for Druid Auto Parts which brought him to Tuscaloosa. Later he worked for Liberty National for 18 years and after retirement he drove a school bus for Tuscaloosa County.
Towards the end of his life, he was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He fought harder and longer than doctors thought anyone could. He fought a good fight here on Earth and is now whole again, breathing freely in the presence of his Creator. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Pallbearers are Chris Sharbutt, Ethan Sharbutt, Bryan Malone, Hudson Spivey, Tyler Frederick, and Barry Fields.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Circlewood Baptist Church.
