Pisarski Community Funeral Home and Cremation Center - PloverJack Allen Soik, 74, of Plover, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, with his family by his side. Jack was born on August 21, 1951, in Stevens Point, the son of Harold & Dorene (Robertson) Soik. He grew up in Plover where he developed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family. After graduating from P.J. Jacobs in 1969, he then attended business courses for 2 years at Wisconsin State University of Stevens Point now known as UWSP. He went on to pursue a career in growing potatoes, to which he dedicated his entire life too. Farming was his calling and he was happiest when he was out in the fields working the land alongside family and other area farmers. Jack worked on their family farm during his childhood and after graduation for years which then became known as Soik Bros, Inc. until moving onto Greg Kizewski Farms, Paragon Farms, Wysocki Family Farms, Sommers Farms and Heartland Farms. Coming full circle his last job was working at McCains where the potatoes he was passionate about were made into the final product “french fries.” He was forced into early retirement in 2018 due to health issues. On February 25, 2019, Jack received a lifesaving heart transplant. He continued to hold onto his spirit and sense of humor in the years that followed as he conquered the medical hurdles that challenged his resilience time and time again.
He shared his life with his beloved wife and devoted caretaker, Janice Soik. They married on August 12, 2010. He was a devoted husband, father, stepdad and of course “Pa-Pa.” Always there to offer guidance, love and his hearty laugh. He truly cherished family gatherings, as his presence on holidays and celebrations brought warmth and joy to those around him.
Jack was a natural storyteller and was always willing to share the weather forecast. He enjoyed watching his beloved Brewers & Packers and we can’t forget about NASCAR. When he was able, he enjoyed fishing and going to the Marshfield Zoo. He appreciated hanging out with his grandkids and listening to them now be the captivating storytellers. Being the sports enthusiast he was, he loved watching all the sporting events that his nephew and grandkids participated in. The elements of Wisconsin weather never phased Jack as he could be seen on the sidelines cheering for them and their teammates. Jack also enjoyed hanging out with his brother Jerry at their family farm where Soik Popcorn was grown and sold. He helped with the process of planting, hand picking, shelling, packaging the popcorn and of course eating it! During his childhood the running joke was “who was going to mow the grass?” Jack enjoyed yard work and would take great appreciation in a well-manicured lawn and of course riding the lawn mower was a bonus. As twin brothers and neighbors, these two enjoyed a good drive around the countryside checking out everyone’s farmland. Jack was also fascinated with the majestic eagles at “Petenwell Lake.”
He is survived by his loving wife, Janice, her daughter Ann (JB) Lyshik of Rosholt, Christine (Jason) Milanowski of Tigerton and his grandchildren Anissa and Brock Lyshik and Hunter Milanowski. He is also survived by his daughters Jaclyn (Michael) Daly of Minneapolis, Jennifer (Devin) Smith of Minneapolis, and Carla (Bill) Peck of Duluth.
He leaves behind his identical twin brother Jerry “Bratski” (Barbie) Soik of Plover, their children Stacey (Brandon) Zimmerman of Plover, Stephanie (Kyle) Kent of Cuba City and Scott (Ashlee) Soik of Plover. He is also survived by his siblings Peggy (Paul) Yates of Amherst, Margie Repinski of Eau Claire, Bonnie Worzella and Billy Soik of Plover as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harold & Dorene Soik and his siblings Rosalie Borchardt, Mary Ann Berzinski and Ronald Soik.
Rest in peace dear husband, father, stepdad and Pa-Pa. Your memories and wisdom you shared with us will live on in our hearts forever.
