Sharon Gail Soik (Wilson) of Lakewood, Wisconsin, went to her home beyond the skies on February 7, 2026. She was born in Green Bay on March 21, 1952, to loving parents, Maurice and June (Johnson) Wilson. Because she was born in March and not full term in May, June always said she was in a hurry. She was the second of five children in the Wilson family.

The Wilsons worked a generational family farm on what is now Glendale Avenue in Mill Center on the west side of Brown County. She attended Mill Center School, Lannoye Elementary and Pulaski High School. Just before she graduated in May, 1970, she met the love of her life, Thomas Soik, on a blind date on her 18th birthday. After Tom returned from serving in the Army, they married on March 17, 1973, and upon her death were together nearly 53 years. Her marriage was blessed with two wonderful children, Chad (Michelle) Stauber Soik and Sara (James) Worrell, who she raised with love in a home converted from the Wilson farm’s massive barn. Later, the Soik family moved to their permanent family home on Waubee Lake near Lakewood.

Sharon worked in human resources and customer service for a number of northeastern Wisconsin companies, including twenty years with Carver Boat Company in Pulaski and ten with Paper Converting Machine Company in Green Bay. After relocating to the northwoods, she worked for Mountain Log Homes in Mountain for five years and, before retiring in 2018, more than twelve years at Potatowami Casino in Carter. Many of her coworkers became lifelong friends because of the hard work, honesty and loyalty she practiced no matter what the job or who was involved. She was a lifelong sewer and quilter and volunteered time and resources (often cookies) to those she could touch with her boundless love and generosity. Her greatest joys came from the happiness of her four beautiful grandchildren, William, Benjamin, Olivia and Fletcher, and her ever-present and expanding circle of friends.

Sharon is survived by two brothers, Jerry (Terri) Wilson and Steve (Judi) Wilson of Green Bay and one sister, Lorna (Steve) Kerkes of Lusk, Wyoming. She is preceded in death by her best friend and younger brother, Samuel.

The family expresses gratitude for the Bellin Cancer Society, the staff of Unity hospice, the staff of the first floor of Bellin Hospital and especially Dr. Guntupalli who treated Sharon for the two years she fought cancer with grace and dignity. The family is also eternally grateful for the friends and family who shared the tears and laughter of the last two years and her final beautiful days at home: Julie & Kris, Lori & Tim, Mary & Joe, Donna, Kate, Denise, Debbie, Tom, Sue and our beloved Aunt Marcia and the rest of the Loch family and so, so many more.

A celebration of life will be held July 19th on the shores of Waubee Lake.
