Jack Standridge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory on May 2, 2023.
Henry "Jack" Standridge, 91, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Jack was born the youngest of four children to Ela and Henry Standridge in Talmo, Georgia on August 20, 1931. He served in the United States Air Force for twenty years where he was the recipient of the Bronze Star Award as a member of the army services unit during the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the United States Air Force, he embarked on his second career in Civil Service as an Air Traffic Controller at the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC.
Jack always had a passion for helping people and he was blessed with the ability to manifest that dedication into the home construction arena where he built many starter homes for young families after retiring from Civil Service in 1984.
Jack and his beloved wife Ceil loved to play bridge, go dancing, and attend monthly supper club events with friends. They also loved traveling and especially enjoyed going on cruises to experience the cultural richness of different countries! Jack enjoyed doing yard work and making his yard look like a golf course; golfing with his buddies was another one of his favorite hobbies!
Jack absolutely loved children. His eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren were truly the apple(s) of his eye! Goodness, he would get so excited when they came for a visit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost seventy years, Cecile Marie Kryznowek-Standridge, his children Gregory Lamar Standridge (Jo Ann), Mary Standridge Hackett (Bruce), Joseph Garland Standridge (Norcott), and Heidi Standridge Elliott (Keith). He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren; Ward Hackett, Jackie Sprengel, Emaly Arndt, John Standridge, Colleen Arthur, Andi Elliott, Mary Standridge, Joe Standridge, Lauren Elliott, Blaine Elliott, and Stephen Elliott. Jack is also survived by six beautiful great-grandchildren.
A memorial service for Jack is being held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:00pm at The Baptist Church of Beaufort, 601 Charles Street, Beaufort, S.C.
