Jack Sidney Whitfield, 79, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca.

Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Clarence William and Maude Langston Whitfield. Jack was a graduate of Pendleton High School, served in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam veteran. Jack retired from UPS with 29 years of service. He owned and operated Jaman Welding Shop in Pendleton. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He loved his family and was supportive and involved in his grandchildren's activities. He was a member of Bishop Branch Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, served as a deacon and on various church committees.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Johnnie "Jen" Whitfield; son, James William "Jim" Whitfield (Jennifer); two grandsons, Jackson Grant Whitfield (Elizabeth) and Jentry Luke Whitfield; sister, Anne McMahan (Ken); and sister-in-law, Carol Whitfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Amanda Joy Whitfield and a brother, William Alton "Bill" Whitfield.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 9, at Bishop Branch Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Smoak and Rev. David Kay. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.
