George Bleckley Morris

George Bleckley Morris (56) was born October 13, 1969, in Anderson, SC to Melenee (Mimi) Smith and James Randolph Morris. He passed away Saturday March 14, 2026, surrounded by people who adore him. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Christi Rizk Morris, his three children Christopher Morris (Alise) of Anderson, SC, Zander Diaz-Morris (Yei Centlazotla) of Denver, CO, Andrew Morris of Sandy Springs, SC, and his precious Yorkies Daisy, Lucy, and RubyLeigh, his granddog Rigby and Tuke Tuke the cat all of Sandy Springs, SC. Also surviving, his parents Mimi and Randy Morris, sister Elizabeth Anne Jones (Bob), brother Michael Morris, baby sister Mimzi Morris-VanDyke (Vandy) and niece Lilli Anne VanDyke Cook (Caleb). In addition, his family by marriage Joe and Marlene Rizk, Lisa Garrison, Debbie Todd (Andrea and Morgan), and Joey & Deidre Rizk (Kaylee, Madison, and Courtney), extended family, and many, many, many friends.

George was preceded in death by his grandparents Anne and George Smith, Vivian and Jesse Morris, and his mother-in-love Kathy Carter Dockins.

George graduated from Pendleton High School and worked in the family business (Smith-Morris Cleaning Contractors) for many years. He also was in the mortgage business, worked at a printing company, and multiple chemical plants.

George was the kind of person who knew no strangers. He befriended anyone and everyone and welcomed them to join the party. He lived his life his way, unapologetically and to the absolute fullest. George lived a life of faith, trusting in the Lord and praying each day mostly for others.

He was a talented singer and an award-winning drummer. Drums were his specialty, but he also played the guitar, the harmonica, the piano, and the trumpet. George had such a beautiful singing voice, the ability to recall song lyrics or completely rewrite a song in an instant. To say he had rhythm is an understatement…. music was circulating in his blood, and his dance moves were incomparable especially "The Swindle". As a child he was an absolute daredevil: climbing trees and rope wings, creating bike ramps and obstacle courses, jumping and flipping onto trampolines from ladders. Constantly moving, always busy, and never ever quiet. His daring tricks carried into his adulthood, always willing to try any stunt or take any dare. George was also a comedian. Constantly making people laugh and doing anything to have a good time. George was a character, with a heart of gold, a generous soul that would give away his last dollar and literally the clothes off his back. He greatly valued his time spent with others. A large portion of his time was spent as "Coach George" for the many sports teams his children were on over the years. He loved giving them nicknames, advice on life, and just being part of a team. George loved the water and was at home swimming especially in the ocean. He was an excellent swimmer and avid body surfer. George was a lifelong dedicated supporter of the Clemson Tigers. No matter the sport, he was always watching or listening. He loved to talk about Clemson sports with anyone whether you wanted to or not. His blood runneth orange forever!

In his later years, George would spend his time checking in with others. Whether you were a phone call, a text, or a visit you could count on George. He would be the first to text on your birthday, cheer you up with a funny video and silly emoji, or a sincere and genuine outpouring of affection to give you strength. George was also devoted to the four-legged friends he shared his time and his bed with. He loved many animals throughout his life, but the current group has had his undivided attention and given him so much happiness.

Never before has the world ever experienced the vast multitude of a soul like George Morris. He will forever be remembered as one of the most entertaining and remarkable men to live. Whether you know him as George, Totsie, Georgie, Fonzi, George B., Puddin, or Daddy he will live eternally in a special place in your heart for he was a man of substance, compassionate, deep and strong minded, faithful, loving, and fun. The world is a better place because of him and everyone who loves him is all the better for having known him.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. David Kay. Burial will follow at Old Silver Brook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service.

Flowers are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries or Midway Presbyterian Church of Anderson, SC.
