Frank Garrison Jr.

Bert Franklin Garrison, Jr., 91, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at National HealthCare, in Anderson, SC.

He was born November 5, 1934, in Madison, SC, first born son of Bert Franklin Garrison, Sr. and Vera Edith Morgan Garrison. As a child, he joined the First Baptist Church in Calhoun Falls, SC, and was baptized in the Savannah River. Later, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Anderson, SC, where he taught a youth Sunday School Class. Frank graduated from Calhoun Falls High School, Class of 1952, and attended Clemson College. He was Flagman for Seaboard Air Line Railroad. He was in the Army Reserves, and went to Fort Benning, GA., where he completed the Infantry Officer Candidate Course in March 1958 and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant. He was sent to Aschaffenburg, Germany, where he was Infantry Unit Commander, and was then transferred from Würzburg. Germany as 1st Lieutenant on June 30, 1963.

He taught Auto Mechanics for 14 years at McDuffie High School, in Anderson, SC. He drove his tractor trailer for over a million accident-free miles for Senn Trucking Company, Newberry, SC.

He loved his family, building trailers, beekeeping, growing blueberries and muscadines, photography, and his cats, "Spanky" and "Miss Kitty." He had a big garden and loved to can his vegetables and fruits. He was a very kind and generous man., always ready and willing to help someone in need.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Lynn Garrison Lambert (Eric), her mother, Lynn Graham Harrison, his sisters, Mary Linda Garrison Hall, and Rubie Elizabeth Garrison Tisdale (Robby), his sister-in-law, Cherry Summers Garrison, his brother-in-law, Joe Kinney Jordan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vera Garrison, his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Ducworth Garrison, his brother, Jesse Reid Garrison, his sister, Frances Louise Garrison Jordan, his brother-in-law, Harry G. Hall, and his niece, Alison Tisdale Lawrence.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
