Mary McClain Obituary
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Carl Hawkins McClain, Jr. and Mary Martin McClain. Mary was a 1967 graduate of T.L. Hanna High School and attended Forrest College and Winthrop University. She worked for Draper Seabrook Corporation for 29 years and retired from Southern States Packaging Company in Spartanburg. She was a member of Giving Hope Fellowship in Anderson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Peggy Bowman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis "Buddy" McClain.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Giving Hope Fellowship, 233 New Hope Road, Anderson, SC 29626, conducted by Pastor Mari Gonlag. The family will greet friends at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Giving Hope Fellowship, 233 New Hope Road, Anderson, SC 29626, Anderson County PAWS, 1320 Highway 29 South, Anderson, SC 29626, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
