Doris Burriss Obituary
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late John Edward Tollison, Sr. and Sarah "Fannie" Davis Tollison. Doris was the retired owner of Davis Gift Shop. She was a longtime member of Orrville Baptist Church and more recently attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple.
Survivors include her son, James Ernest "Jim" Burriss, Jr. (Sarah); granddaughter, Brantli Burriss; great-grandchildren, Addysen Jordan, Tollison Burriss, Lennox Burriss, and Kaymie Brown; and two sisters, Frances E. Yeargin and Barbara R. Whitmire.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtis Pruitt and Lois Norton and three brothers, John Edward Tollison, Jr., Grady Harold Tollison, and Arthur Leroy Tollison.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Sam Duncan and Rev. Greg Cullen. A private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
