Betty Sears Obituary
Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Leonard David and Luna Bennett Whitfield. Betty Jo was a graduate of McDuffie High School where she was Miss McDuffie Senior. She was a cosmetologist and later retired as a rural mail carrier for the Townville Post Office. Betty Jo was an active member of The Freedom Center.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Larry E. Sears and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Whitfield Dove and a brother, Dr. W. Frank Whitfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, at Freedom Center, Anderson/South, 3235 D.L. Drive, Anderson, SC 29624, conducted by Rev. Phillip Sears and Rev. Jeremy Sears. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Center.
