Jack S. Wojewoda was born on October 13, 1947, and raised in Chicago, IL. He attended Tuley and Forman High Schools andwas drafted and served in Vietnam (1969-1971).

He had a multitude of careers including insurance salesman, supervisor for the Department of Streets and Sanitation in Chicago, computer installations at Kemper Insurance, police officer in Crystal Lake, sold jewelry, owned his own residential cleaning service, and owned and ran an estate sale service and sold antiques.

He enjoyed dancing and participating in the Harvest Moon Festival and was taught dancing by Mary Lou Henner’s mother. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He was in a bowling league with his wife, Eleanore. He enjoyed camping and went from a tent to a 31-foot camper over the years. His favorite part of camping was the campfires where he would lead the group in songs and occasionally singe some hair.

As a family, he liked to go antiquing and he sold antiques for a time. His favorites were railroad lanterns and oil lamps.

He was the first president of the McHenry County chapter of VietNow and participated in many of the organization’s activities including the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans tickertape parade in Chicago. 

His favorite food was pizza which he ate daily for years and even had it delivered to his wedding reception.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Irene Wojewoda, brother Wayne Wojewoda and son Aaron Wojewoda. He will be dearly miss and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eleanore Wojewoda and daughter Christina (Kendall Krebs) Wojewoda, MD.

Funeral services will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W Terra Cotta Avenue, Crystal Lake at 10 AM on Monday, August 12th. In lieu of flowers, please considerer a donation in Jack’s memory to:
