Jackie N. Dean, 68, of
Monroe City, MO passed away Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the O'Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in
Monroe City, MO. Pastor Josh Chambers will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Jude's Cemetery in
Monroe City, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Jackie's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the funeral home

Monroe City, MO.
Jackie was born September 14, 1956, in Hannibal, MO to Phillip R. Dean and Carol Sue Armstrong Dean. He was married to Gayle Thompson Dean on October 2, 1976, in
Monroe City, MO. She survives.
Survivors include his daughters, Erika (Greg) Elston of Hannibal, MO, Brooke (Lee) Kendrick of
Monroe City, MO, Brittany (Patrick) Johnson of
Monroe City, MO, sister, Becky Chinn, grandchildren, Kaelin Kendrick-O'Bryan, Emery Kendrick, Hayes Kendrick, Braedyn Hawkins, Avery Johnson, Taegyn Johnson, Oaklyn Johnson, Karsyn Elston, Ian Elston and Beckett Elston, great grandchild, Najliah Avae James, honorary grandchildren, Delekij James, Cahlin Chapman and Ryan Moss, mother-in-law, Wilma Jackson, numerous nieces and nephews, and of course his beloved dogs Nyx and Nico.
Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and brother, Reggie Dean.
Jackie's journey began alongside his father at Monroe City Ice Company, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication. His career flourished as he become a Project Engineer Tech at Diemakers and later retired as a Supervisor from Lakeside Casting Solutions in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and leadership.
Jackie's commitment to service was evident through his active involvement with the Monroe City Jaycees, where he held roles as chapter president, district director and region director. His exceptional contributions were honored with a lifetime membership as a US Jaycee Senator by the Monroe City chapter. His passion for community service extended to his role as a volunteer firefighter with Monroe City and his service on the board of the Monroe City Fire Protection District.
Known affectionately as a "girl dad," Jackie was an avid supporter of his children and grandchildren's endeavors, always attending sporting events, which ranged from competitive cheerleading to roller hockey. Believing each grandchild was a special gem mined by God especially for Jackie and Gayle. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, whether it was being near the ocean, people watching or seeking thrills on zip lines and roller coasters. He was a fan of Fox News, playing cards and boating at Mark Twain Lake. Jackie relished moments spent with a 7Up and Tootsie Rolls in hand, surrounded by a house full of family and the warmth of a fire.
Generous, thoughtful and kind, Jackie's presence was a gift to all who knew him. His legacy of love and service will continue to inspire those he has left behind.
Jackie was a member of the Monroe City Christian Church.
Pallbearers will be Lee Kendrick, Patrick Johnson, Greg Elston, Heath Chinn, Tyler Wheeler, Jackson Wheeler and Kaelin Kendrick-O'Bryan.
