Jared Kendrick, 40, originally of
Monroe City, MO, most recently of Kansas, in the Kansas City area, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the O'Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in
Monroe City, MO. Deacon Mike Long will officiate.

Jared Patrick Kendrick was born on December 23, 1984, in Columbia, MO to parents Parker and Janice Kendrick.
Jared leaves behind one son, Jadon, who meant everything to him. To Jared, the role of father was the most important thing in his world. Jared also leaves his mother, Jan Kendrick, and siblings Jacob Kendrick, Pamla Paris, and Jacqui Price as well as a variety of friends and other family.
Jared was proceeded in death by his father, Parker Kendrick, and sister, Paula Sullivan Rust.
Jared attended Holy Rosary and Monroe City schools throughout his childhood. While in school, Jared loved to participate in many sports; football, baseball, basketball, and track. His favorites were football, 7 years, and baseball, 2 years. He was a member of the Boy Scouts. He also was in many school plays, learned to play the guitar, and was a better singer than he wanted to admit. In the 8th grade Jared was one of the emcees for the Holy Rosary Talent Show. In high school, Jared was very active in the FFA serving as an officer. For his SAE project Jared showed cattle.
Jared had various jobs growing up. He carried newspapers for Hannibal Courier Post then Quincy Herald Whig. During his later summers at home, Jared worked for Winks Lawn Service and TL Pangborn pouring concrete. Jared was always quite strong and earned the nickname, Ox. Jared always helped on the farm doing whatever farm work was needed.
Jared attended TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) in high school. This was a great experience for him personally and spiritually, and it introduced Jared to a great group of friends, and he kept those friends throughout his life.
Jared attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, MO. He got a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and minored in criminal justice. While at Northwest, Jared and his friends were part of the "Shirtless Bearcats" and would attend various sporting events with painted chests to show their school pride. This even included some below-freezing National Championship games, and the group was promoted on a Kansas City billboard.
After college, Jared initially worked as a security guard, then dedicated twelve years to the Overland Park, Kansas police department as a police officer. Most recently, Jared ran his own washer and dryer repair and rental business.
Jared was a sports enthusiast and watched and attended many professional events with Jadon. This includes his lifelong love of the Kansas City Chiefs as well as the St. Louis Cardinals, Sporting KC, and even hockey events.
Jared loved to travel. Recent trips included a week in Europe where he traveled through many countries as well as a trip to Puerto Rico with Jadon earlier this year. They also traveled via Amtrak across the western part of the US twice. They enjoyed visiting Florida beaches.
Jared had signed up to be an organ donor, and his wish was fulfilled. Jared was able to save three lives and improve the lives of others.
Memorial contributions may be made to Jadon's Education Fund in the care of Jacqui Price.
