Parker Kendrick, 73, of
Monroe City, MO, passed away at 5:12 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the family farm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in
Monroe City, MO. Father Hoffman will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in
Monroe City, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Parker's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, November 17, 2025, at the O'Donnell-Thurman Life Celebration Home in
Monroe City, MO.

Parker Lambert Kendrick was born in Hannibal, MO on March 1, 1952, to Harry and Rosie Kendrick of
Monroe City, MO. He was married to Janice (Jan) Straub on December 29, 1974. She survives.
Parker and Jan were blessed with five children, Jacob and Paula, born in Salina, KS, Pamla, born in Emporia, KS, Jared, born in Columbia, MO and Jacqueline, born in Hannibal, MO.
Jacob's family now includes his wife, Keri, sons, Samuel and Benjamin. Paula preceded him in death on March 1, 2025, and son, Landon survives. Pamla's spouse is Sam Paris. Jared's son is Jadon. Jacqueline's family includes, husband, Zack, son, Craig and daughter, Kylie.
Parker's siblings were, Mary Graupman; Anita Crowley, spouse Robert; Juett Kendrick, spouse, Daniella; Charles Kendrick (Chuck), spouse Patricia; John Kendrick, spouse Connie; Cele Shuck, spouse Dwight; Dorothy Mudd, spouse Jim; Henrietta Hughes, spouse Steven; Stephen Kendrick (Crash), spouse Jean; Gemma Uppinghouse, spouse Bob.
Parker attended Holy Rosary Catholic school, grades 1-8. And graduated from Monroe City High School in 1970. He enjoyed basketball and baseball.
Parker graduated from Hannibal-LaGrange College in 1972, and University of Missouri, Columbia in December 1974. Parker's degree was Agricultural Engineering, and he went on to pass the Professional Engineer test earning the title of Professional Engineer.
Parker started his job in Overbrook, Kansas in January of 1975 as a Civil Engineer. He oversaw the building of watershed dams for USDA Soil Conservation Service (SCS). In March of 1977, Parker's job moved to Frankford, Kansas, continuing to build watershed dams. They lived in Wamego, KS at that time. In April of 1978, they moved to Salina, Kansas where Parker was in the State office for SCS. Then, April of 1982, they moved to Emporia, KS, continuing to build dams. In 1982, they bought the Long Century Farm on Route J and Parker started migrating back to Missouri. In April of 1983, Parker transferred to Columbia, MO at the State Office. Then, in August of 1985, Parker transferred to the SCS office in Palmyra, MO where he worked until January 1988. He decided to then work for the post office and carried mail in Palmyra, MO. He was the fourth in his family to carry mail.
Parker played the guitar for Guitar Mass at Holy Rosary Church in early 1970s. Parker also enjoyed playing guitar and singing in the Hannibal La-Grange college choir. While attending Mizzou, Parker was quite active in intramural sports, including volleyball and basketball.
While living in Kansas, Parker played softball and basketball. We also had great fun square dancing and round dancing.
At the farm Parker had cattle. When feeding the calves, he always tried to pet as many calves as would let him and became attached to them. Parker also carried on the tradition of chickens, after his mother passed, and was quite proud of his country eggs.
Parker was Catholic by Faith. Parker dedicated his life to serving the Parish both at Holy Rosary School and with the Knights of Columbus. He acted as Grand Knight for several years and was a Fourth Degree Knight.
Pallbearers will be Samuel Kendrick, Benjamin Kendrick, Zack Price, Sam Paris, Matt Kendrick and Pat Kendrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Craig Price, Jadon Kendrick, Landon Sullivan Rust and Kylie Price.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus.
