Dannie O. Kendrick, 73 years old, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 7, 1952, and was the son of Nancy and Brodie A. Williams Sr., both of whom preceded him in death.
Dannie was a man whose passion for life was as vibrant as his favorite colors, red and black. Growing up in Columbus, Ohio, Dannie attended South High School, where he distinguished himself as a dedicated athlete on the track team.
Following high school, Dannie proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. It was during his years of service that he cultivated his lifelong talent and love for cooking, training as a chef and mastering the culinary arts. After serving in the army, Dannie continued to be a dedicated worker, spending years as a supervisor on the loading dock for Roanoke Furniture and Toys R Us, where his reliability and work ethic were highly valued.
Throughout his life, Dannie held an enthusiastic passion for cars, boxing, and football. He was a dedicated fan, fiercely loyal to his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
Above all, Dannie cherished his role as a family man. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather. His warmth, generosity, and strong spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dannie is survived by his loving wife, Latoscha Kendrick; his children: Dayonna Kendrick, Darvion Kendrick, Danni James, Danny Lynch, Donte Hawkins, Sandy Kendrick, and Toccara Palmer; and his twenty-eight cherished grandchildren. He also leaves behind his devoted brother, Brodie Williams Jr., and his sisters: Sharon Williams, Brodina Williams, Bernadette Williams, and Gayle Porter. He will be lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Brodie A. Williams Sr. and Nancy Williams, his sister, Wanda Porter, his aunt Carolyn Porter, and best friend, James "Goldie" Turner.
A memorial service to celebrate Dannie's life will be held at a later date. The family asks that friends and loved ones check back for updated information regarding the date, time, and location
