Jackie Mitchell Obituary
Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Roseland Park Baptist Church.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Barry Lee and Bro. Nicky Lee will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS, he retired from the Picayune Fire Department as a Fire Chief after 30 years of service and a member of Roseland Park Baptist Church. Jackie graduated from Pearl River Central High School, he was an avid Blue Devils Fan and loved a Ole Miss Football game. He married his wife Jane in 1967 and together they had 2 sons, Bobby and Ottis. Jackie enjoyed golfing, fishing and being with his family. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ottis Mitchell and Dimple Davis Mitchell; his wife, Jane Ellen Mitchell; and his grandson, Roman Seth Mitchell.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ottis (Antha) Mitchell and Bobby E. Mitchell; 4 grandchildren, Jake Mitchell, Sarah Manning, Kaitlin Sullivan, and Dillon Mitchell; 6 great grandchildren, Madelyn, Koen, Indie, Elliana, Emma and Emri; many friends and extended family

Jackie was my first cousin. Hid dad Ottis was my dad's ( Leo Mitchell ) brother. I have many fond memories staying in their home while visiting from Tennessee. Jackie was a fine man and will be missed ...thoughts and prayers for his family. R I P Jackie
