Jackie Potter Obituary

Born in Brookfield, Missouri to Clara Williams and John Potter. He is preceded by his brother, Willie Jean Williams.
He went to High School at Dalton Vocational School and College at University of Missouri, training in Electronics.
He joined the U.S. Army, was stationed in Okinawa and Tokyo, and served in the Korean War. After Jackie was honorably discharged from the Army in 1956, he worked for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy RR in Nebraska, then the Missouri Army National Guard Military Academy, and finally Ford Motor Co. until his retirement.
Jackie Potter was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1048 and the Widow Sons Lodge No. 17. Jackie loved fishing, hunting, working around the farm, cars and his dogs.
He is survived by his wife Sonja Potter, children: Gaylon, Lisa, Rochelle, Dion, his nephews Bill & Monica Dawson, Gary & Barbara Dawson, his sister Shirley and his son and daughter in law Arthur and Amy Lynn Butler.
We will truly miss his wisdom, strong will, determination, leadership and smile.
A Celebration of Life and Military Honors for Mr. Potter will be on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Swan Lake Memorial Park.
Arrangements conducted by Funeral Services of Independence. Condolences may be shared on our website.

I worked with, traveled with, hunted with, and argued with my neighbor Jackie P. Went to his hometown Brookfield Mo. met his family and we did some rabbit hunting there.
