Jackie Rupp Obituary

Jackie was a saxophone player for the Bucklin marching band in high school, and participated competitively, was a drum major, homecoming queen and participated in many school activities. Later, she also became an accomplished pianist and organist. She enjoyed music especially Bossa Nova and artists like Sergio Mendes and the Tijuana Brass.
Jackie married her high school sweetheart Robert Ray Rupp and had three children together, Sheree, Robert, II and Cynthia. Robert (Bob) joined the Navy and then the Air Force. Being a military family they were transferred to many states and a four year tour of Zaragoza, Spain. She enjoyed learning other languages and tried her hand at French, Portuguese, Greek, Arabic and of course, Spanish.
She lived most of her adult work life in Silver Spring, Maryland as an executive secretary for John Driggs Construction Company and SAIC, a government contractor.
She is survived by her children Sheree Rupp Pickle (Michael Pickle), Robert R. Rupp II, (Sandy Milam), Cynthia Rupp Newman; siblings Marilyn Imel Lakin (Gene Lakin), Genevieve Imel Walker, Jim Imel (Cindy Imel). Also 6 grandchildren, Michael Brent Pickle (Casie Pickle), Ryan Pickle (Chris Ryder), Brittany Sasser Mayhall (Mason Mayhall), Sara Rupp, Randi Rupp Hennigan (Jonathan Hennigan), Taylor Rupp and 5 great grand children; Alyssa Pickle, Dahlia Pickle, Waylon Mayhall, Daxton Hennigan and Sadie Rae Hennigan.
A graveside service is planned at the Bucklin Cemetery on September 25, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer's Foundation in her memory in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
