Jackie Don Simpson

Jackie Don Simpson, 82, passed away on January 29, 2025, at Lone Star Nursing and Rehab in Stephenville, TX, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on December 21, 1942, in Gorman, TX, to William Thomas and Zena Ethel (Brightwell) Simpson. Upon graduating from Gorman High School, he went on to further his education where he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University. Once he was through with school, he made his way back home to Gorman where he began his career as Sales Director of 37 years at Birdsong Peanuts. He was a member of the Gorman Church of Christ. He also enjoyed working with cattle and farming on the family land. Along with spending time with family and friends, cooking, camping, fishing, and hunting.
Jackie Don Simpson is survived by his wife, Lesa Miears Simpson, his children, Chance and his wife, Susan, Casey, Cody, and Rachel. As well as grandkids Danny and Brandi Ireland, Adalynn Simpson, Jackson Simpson, Kane Wilson, Kloe Wilson, and Kamry Carter and great grandkids
Stevie Ireland, Tyleigh Velasquez, and Stella Wilson.
Jackie Don is preceded in death by both of his parents.
A funeral service will be held in Jackie Don's honor on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the Church of Christ in Gorman with a graveside service to follow at the Gorman Cemetery. A visitation will be on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Gorman, TX.
