Jackie Spears Obituary
Ms. Jackie Katrina Spears was born in Florence, South Carolina , on November 14, 1980, to Mark and Rosetta Spears. On Tuesday, September 19, 2023, she gained her wings. “Oh that I had wings like a Dove! For then I fly away, and be at rest. Psalm 55:6
Jackie attended Florence County Public School and graduated form South Florence High School Class of 1999. She later attended Francis Marion University and Majored in Nursing.
At an early age, Jackie joined Judea Apostolic Church, was baptized filled with the holy spirit, and sang on the Choir. As an adult, she later changed her membership and was baptized at the Assembly Church, under the leadership of Pastor Burton Andrew Ross, Jr. in Florence, South Carolina. Just recently she had a desire to renewed her membership and worship experience with Judea Apostolic Church, her home church.
Jackie, affectionately known as “Missy” was an extraordinary mother, daughter, sister, niece, auntie and friend, who loved by all who knew her.
Jackie was preceded in death by both, her paternal grandparents, Claude and Ida Mae Spears; maternal grandparents, James and Jessie Preston Dunham; an aunt, Peggy Moses, three uncles, Tony Dunham, Winston Senior Lockett and James Preston Dunham, Jr.; and two special cousins, Winston and Christopher Lockett.
Left to mourn her passing: a daughter, Jasmine Kayla Spears of Florence, South Carolina; her parents, Mark and Rosetta Spears of Florence, South Carolina; one sister, Brandi (Larry) McCall of Florence, South Carolina; two brothers, Mark (Shaniya) Spears, Jr. of West Bloomfield, Michigan and Alvin (Lorann) Thomas of Florence, South Carolina; four nieces; two nephews; several aunts and uncles, Charlie (Bessie) Dunham, Charles (Ann) Dunham, Tracy (Donna) Dunham, Linda (Michael) Thomas, Jessie Lee (Thomas) James, Beverly (Lawrence) Burgess, Claudia Lockett, and Ronald Spears all of Florence, South Carolina;; three special friends, June Jones of Florence, South Carolina; Vernita “Vern Vern” Jones; and the Ross Family of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family has requested no visitation.
