Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thomson Funeral System on Jan. 27, 2024.
Mr. Jackie Stead was born on Wednesday, May 23, 1945 in Thomson (McDuffie County), GA. He entered eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Medical Center in Augusta, GA.
Jackie received his education by attending the public school system in Thomson (McDuffie County), Georgia. He graduated from the former R. L. Norris High School. After completing high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for twelve years and six months. He worked in the Supply while in the military. Jackie was officially discharged from the United States Military in 1976. Once leaving the military, he returned to his hometown of Thomson (McDuffie County), Georgia. Jackie was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church of Thomson (McDuffie County), Georgia.
Jackie was a man of few words, but truly a kind spirit. He touched many hearts during his earthly walk. We understand that God knows best, and that Jackie is now free of pain. We humbly pray to the Almighty that his transition to his new heavenly home on high was peaceful. Jackie, we love you and we shall see you again one sweet day.
